A layered, hand-painted jungle hideout with the most decorated bathroom of the lot
Coco is the one with the most to look at. It starts at the gate, with a hand-lettered "Co-Co house" sign, and the layering keeps going inside. It's a good fit for anyone settling in for a longer, slower stay who likes a room with personality.
The whole front of the house is one open-air deck that combines kitchen, living room and lounge — burnt-orange floorboards, a big black sofa on a shag rug, a decorative balustrade, curtains and bamboo blinds for shade or privacy. The kitchen runs along one side with pots and pans hanging on a rail, and a small Buddha and candleholders on a shelf above. Off to one side there's a lounge daybed under a hand-painted lotus canvas — a spot to read, not a second bed.
The bedroom behind is a compact all-white cabin with a warm rattan lamp. The standout is the bathroom: deep mustard walls, Moroccan tiles in blue and rust-orange, a multi-level floor and a bamboo ladder for towels — the most decorated bathroom on the property. There's even a small private gravel courtyard, which is rare at this rate.
A 2.5-minute walk (190m) from the beach on a flat path, then four steps to the door.
Everyone checks in at the restaurant, and our team carries your bags up to the house from there.
