Chill House

Chill House is the one for doing nothing, happily. The best part isn't the bedroom — it's the big covered terrace out front, set up as a real outdoor living room: a sofa, a chunky wooden table, a hammock at one end, prayer flags along the edge of the roof, and a wide open window that looks straight out into the jungle and a couple of tall tree trunks. You could spend most of the day out here.

Inside, the bedroom is simple and calm — a double bed under a white pitched ceiling, soft gold curtains, and windows that look onto a granite rock face just behind the house. The bathroom has a fun streak: a band of bright mosaic tile in red, green, yellow and white runs along the lower walls and into the shower. It's the roomiest of our fan-cooled rooms and leans relaxed and bohemian rather than polished.

There's a fridge, kettle and glasses on the terrace but no kitchen, so it works best paired with the restaurant down the hill.
